LindsAy Dougherty,MA, LPC
I am a Licensed professional Counselor who has been working in the mental health field since 2002. After graduating The University of Vermont with a BA in Psychology, I attended The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and received a MA in Clinical Psychology. I have extensive experience working with a variety of populations struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment disorders, family issues, ADHD, and more.
I began to specialize and train in postpartum mood disorders and mental health relating to infertility after my own personal struggle. I know first hand how hard it is to find the strength and courage to overcome the overwhelming emotions that are related to postpartum mood disorders and infertility. I am trained and certified with Postpartum Support International (PSI) to provide assessment and treatment regarding maternal mental health. I also trained with the Women's health pioneer Alice Domar and am certified in her empirically based Mind Body Training for Infertility. I started The Courageous Conversations Center of Denver to give individuals and families the opportunity to break their silence and begin the dialogue around these issues. I believe that through the therapeutic process one can heal, find meaning, and empowerment through their story. I gently guide one by using a collaborative, individualized, intergrative, and strength-based approach in order to help one connect with their emotional experiences. By using different modalities such as CBT, narrative therapy, mindfulness, and more one can learn effective coping and problem -solving techniques, increase self-awareness, find balance, and ultimately find inner strength and peace.
I am a professional member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Postpartum Support International (PSI), and Resolve: The National Infertility Association.
